buildingSMART France: Prospects for OPENBIM 2021

Earlier this year, Pierre MIT (president of SMART France), Bernard Schaer (president of PN MINnD2) and Yannick Cotherel (president of bSFrance CST) held a virtual meeting and set out the prospects and progress that France intends to make in 2021.

In addition to highlighting the changes and disruptions in the way of work and the highlight of the digital age caused by the pandemic, they indicated that buildingSMART France in 2020 launched 3 important guides: “Digital models of objects”, “Georeferencing a BIM project” and “Implementing a classification system”.

For the year 2021 buildingSMART France aims to unite and support all professionals in the construction sector, and move forward with studies and processes : BEM ( energy modeling of buildings ), Digital Twin , Use Case Management, CDE, BCF, IFC model, semantics and dictionaries, etc., noting that these themes are part of the continuity of existing work at French and international level and that will strengthen the links between the needs expressed by the field and the work of Standardisation.
